So who are we? What do we believe? If you are reading this blog then you probably are a little interested in what SEG thinks and has to say about various topics. Well, if you are reading our opinions, I thought it might be useful to share with you a little about the philosophy we have that drives those opinions.
What do we believe? First (always), we believe in doing the “right thing.” It’s simple, but sometimes difficult. We try to own our mistakes and do what is “right” even if it costs. We try to leave more than we take, give freely in the belief that “what goes around comes around.” Our business is about people and so people and the relationships we have with them is a primary focus for us. We are in the “soft” (people) skills business and we know that the “soft stuff is the hard stuff.” Changing adult behavior is hard and it requires a lot of work. This is the “hardest, most rewarding work most of us have ever loved. We believe that changing behavior is a process, not an event and it’s the reinforcement and coaching that happen before and after the training that changes the behavior.
We have been around for thirty years and some of our customers have been with us for most of that time. So we believe our customer relationships are “forever” relationships. We are in it for the long haul, which means we must continue to bring value to our customers every day. Finally, we don’t believe training is an end. It is only a means to an end and the end is improved outcomes and results, whether personal or business.
So, now you know, SEG is about people giving relationships, results and trying to do it the “right way.”
