Solving the Mystery of Execution - Part 2
Below is the second part of our Execution Checklist. This
one addresses Organizational Culture, Strategies and People
and their impact on a company's success in executing their
strategic plan.
Rate your company on a scale of
1 to 7:
1 = not at all
4 = average performance
7 = exceptional performance
If you scored over 80,
you are above average to excellent, there is a high probability
that your strategies will be successfully executed. You have
a very good start on your road to success.
If you scored between 41 and 80,
you have an average shot at success. Look at the individual
questions to see which areas could be improved. Consider each
area carefully because "average" is not usually
enough for success.
If you scored below 40,
you definitely will have trouble with any execution.
If culture is the problem area, consider revising your strategies
so they can succeed in your current culture. If your strategies
are not going to make your vision a reality, then they will
need to be revised. And finally, as Jim Collins points out
in his book in "Good to Great" having the right
people on the bus is critical to successful execution of any
strategic plan.
