Solving the Mystery of Execution - Part 1
To help companies evaluate their effectiveness in executing
their strategies, we've created a checklist of questions to
help them determine the combination that hinders their success.
Included on this checklist are questions about Vision, Mission,
Objectives, Strategies, Communication, Organizational Culture,
People, Organizational Structure, Leadership, Resources, Activities,
and Distractions. In this article, we included the questions
about Vision, Mission and Objectives. We'll discuss the other
components and include their checklists in subsequent newsletters.
Rate your company on a scale of
1 to 7:
1 = not at all
4 = average performance
7 = exceptional performance
If you scored over 91,
you are doing an above average to exceptional job of creating
and communicating your Vision, Mission and Objectives. You
have the first part in place and a good framework around which
to build your plans of action.
If you scored between 54 and 91,
you are doing an average job of creating and communicating
your Vision, Mission and Objectives. Look at the individual
questions to see which area could be improved. Having a strong
framework is important for establishing the right kind of
execution activities that will help you realize your vision.
If you scored below 54,
you definitely need help with creating a compelling Mission,
Vision and the Objectives that will help you realize that
vision. These components work together to create the map you
will follow as you execute your plan. This needs to be clear
to all involved to be successful.

questions. If you would like these before our next newsletter
or if you would like to discuss your results and learn how
